Encouraging Female Entrepreneurship on International Women's Day

Today marks the annual celebration of International Women's Day, a day where we recognize the achievements of women throughout history and around the world. This year's theme, "Choose to Challenge," encourages us to challenge gender bias and inequality wherever we see it. One area where women continue to face significant challenges is in the workplace, particularly in terms of pay equity.

Despite progress in recent decades, women still earn less than men in nearly every industry and at every level of seniority. According to data from the World Economic Forum, the global gender pay gap currently stands at 16%, meaning that women earn, on average, only 84 cents for every dollar earned by men. This gap is even wider for women of colour, who face additional barriers due to systemic racism and discrimination.

One way that women can combat the gender pay gap is by starting their own businesses. By becoming entrepreneurs and creating their own companies, women can take control of their earnings potential and build businesses that reflect their values and priorities. As an entrepreneur, you have the opportunity to set your own salary and determine your own earnings potential, without being limited by the pay gaps and biases that can hold women back in traditional employment.

However, starting a business is not always easy. It requires hard work, dedication, and a willingness to take risks. That’s where a financial coach can help. At Money Time Coaching we hold you accountable to your entrepreneurship goals and help you accomplish your financial goals quicker. At Money Time Coaching we emphasize the importance of understanding how money works and the power of reading numbers like we read words. We believe that enhancing your ability to read numbers and use financial ratios to your advantage is crucial to improving profitability and enhancing financial performance.
